Fundera Inc. failed to protect the personal information of more than 2,600 small-business loan applicants that was exposed in a January data breach, a proposed federal class action said.
Anthony S. McCorkle alleged that Fundera, which is a subsidiary of Nerdwallet that provides financial services to small businesses, failed to maintain adequate data-security measures, properly train its employees, monitor its contractors and vendors, or provide timely and adequate notice of the breach.
Information exposed in the incident included addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, taxpayer-ID numbers, government-ID numbers, and driver’s-license numbers, according to a complaint ...
