FTC Gets Partial Victory in Prime Suit Against Amazon Executives

The US Federal Trade Commission picked up a few legal wins in its suit accusing Amazon.com Inc. executives of making it difficult for Prime users to cancel subscriptions.

The FTC showed that the Restore Online Shoppers’ Confidence Act applies to Prime, Judge John H. Chun of the US District Court for the Western District of Washington said in a Wednesday opinion that partially granted the agency’s motion for summary judgment.

ROSCA makes it unlawful to charge an internet customer for goods when a seller would view a customer’s silence as an agreement.
