Frontier Airlines Fees Make Low-Fare Ad Deceptive, Suit Says (1)

Contrary to its ads, Frontier Airlines Inc. isn’t a budget airline and “does not have the lowest airfares,” a new lawsuit alleges.

Instead, Frontier “breaks its fees into tiny little pieces and checkpoints to water down the appearance of what is actually an average airfare when combined and compared to the industry,” the proposed class suit says.

The airline doesn’t make its fee structure clear to consumers at the time of purchase, especially when they buy Frontier tickets through third-party vendors, according to the suit, filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
