Frontier Airlines Inc. defeated a proposed class action by passengers who sought refunds for flight cancellations caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, as a Colorado federal court said they failed to plausibly allege that the airline breached its contractual obligations.
Some passengers canceled their own flights; others had flights canceled by Frontier. None raised viable claims, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado said Monday.
Plaintiffs alleged that instead of fulfilling its obligations to provide refunds, Frontier provided only 90-day travel vouchers, which were worthless during the pandemic because of travel restrictions and limited flight capacity and routes.
