Fresh Direct LLC and a firm it used for on-site job recruiting must face a class lawsuit alleging it extended bogus job offers as an end-run around New York City’s fair chance law for workers with criminal records, a federal judge ruled.
Henry Franklin plausibly alleges the offers were “feigned” so Fresh Direct and Vertex Global Solutions Inc. could claim they complied with a 2015 amendment to the New York City Human Rights Law, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York said.
