Freight Company Revoked Deaf Woman’s Job Offer, EEOC Suit Says

A deaf woman claims she lost her job offer as a package deliverer at a Michigan freight company after she requested a sign language interpreter, a US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission lawsuit says.

ALM Freight LLC and LMDMax Corp—retained by ALM to provide recruitment and onboarding services—allegedly failed to hire, refused to accommodate, and retaliated against Jalissa Cerda because of her disability, according to a Monday complaint filed in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
