Fred Meyer Workers Survive Motion to Trim Claims in Wage Suit

Employees of Kroger Co. subsidiary Fred Meyer Stores Inc. may proceed with the bulk of their claims stemming from a new payroll system that allegedly shorted them on their paychecks, the District of Oregon ruled.

Samantha Woody and four other named plaintiffs seek to represent a class of more than 10,000 members. The amended complaint includes four claims—failure to pay all wages at regular paydays; failure to pay all wages at termination; unauthorized withholding of wages; and equitable accounting of wages.
