Francis Ford Coppola Sues Variety Over ‘Megalopolis’ Report (3)

Francis Ford Coppola, the multi-Oscar-winning “Godfather” trilogy director, accused entertainment publication Variety in Los Angeles state court of defaming him in a July article, saying he’s owed at least $15 million in damages.

The article at the center of Coppola’s complaint—which also names executive editors and authors Brent Lang and Tatiana Siegel as defendants—says Coppola tried to kiss young extras. It also says he failed to provide them avenues to lodge complaints, such as an HR department, during the production of his 2024 film “Megalopolis.”
