Fort Worth, Texas, has governmental immunity from suit in a case where a man alleged he was injured by a police officer who lost control of his car and hit a fence he was standing near, a Texas appeals court ruled.
Officer Andre Towns was in pursuit of a suspected truck thief who had fled another officer’s traffic stop when he entered the residential neighborhood where Horace Bealey was talking with a neighbor. Towns lost control of the vehicle, making a too-wide right turn and striking the fence, allegedly injuring Beasley.
