Former Unifi Aviation Worker Fails to Revive Race, Sex Bias Suit

A former Unifi Aviation LLC employee was denied her bid to appeal a judgment in favor of the company on claims that she was fired for wearing face masks supporting the LGBTQ+ community and Black Lives Matter.

Tamra Culton missed the filing deadline to submit her notice of appeal to the district court’s summary judgment and reconsideration rulings, and there were no extraordinary circumstances to merit an extension, the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit said in an unpublished opinion Tuesday.
