Former Salesforce Vice President Advances Retaliation Lawsuit

A former Salesforce Inc. vice president can proceed with his lawsuit alleging that the company illegally terminated him for calling attention to what he believed was shareholder fraud, a federal district court said.

Karl Wirth adequately showed that he believed Salesforce’s plans to make false statements about a customer data platform product, Genie, could result in securities fraud, Judge Angel Kelley of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts said in a Sept. 13 order denying the company’s motion to dismiss.
