Exposed historical mill waste and current industrial activity on a vast Washington state property may be spreading hazardous substances to nearby water bodies, an advocacy group said in a citizen suit filed in federal district court.
Snoqualmie Mill Ventures LLC owns hundreds of acres in Snoqualmie, Wash., east of Seattle, the site of its commercial and industrial development project. The company has failed to meet monitoring, recordkeeping, reporting and planning requirements set by the Clean Water Act, Waste Action Project said in a complaint in the U.S. District Court in the Western District of Washington.
