Former Legal Answer Edge Consultant Brings Wage Collective Suit

A former employee filed a collective action lawsuit against Legal Answer Edge LLC and owner Michael Harris alleging the company misclassified him and other “consultants” as independent contractors and failed to pay them overtime wages in violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Lead plaintiff Lee Johnson alleges violations of the FLSA’s overtime provisions, which require employers to pay non-exempt employees one and one-half times their regular rate for hours worked over 40 in a workweek, according to his complaint entered into the docket June 4 with the US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
