Former FedEx Worker Fails to Revive Racial Discrimination Suit

A US judge neither abused his discretion nor provided improper instructions to the Memphis jury considering an ex-FedEx Corporate Services Inc. worker’s racial discrimination case, a federal appeals court said Wednesday.

A three-judge panel of the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit unanimously upheld a district court’s rejection of a claim that FedEx racially discriminated against Yvonne Craddock. Craddock, who is Black, was fired in 2016 for alleged workplace violence.

Craddock’s Title VII claim went to trial in 2023. A jury found she presented a prima facie argument for race discrimination and evidence of a pretextual firing. ...
