Forever 21 Inc. failed to protect the personal information of nearly 540,000 current and former employees that was exposed in a March data breach, a proposed federal class action said.
Chyna Taylor alleged the company didn’t maintain adequate security systems or properly archive sensitive data, allowed access by third parties, and failed to implement sufficient security measures.
Data exposed in the breach included full names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, bank account numbers, and health-plan information, according to a complaint filed Oct. 13 in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
