Cheney Brothers Inc. and workers who say it failed to pay them proper overtime can resolve their dispute for more than $1.4 million after a federal magistrate judge in Florida signed off on their settlement.
The deal includes $961,000 for the food service distributor’s workers and an additional $423,000 in fees for their attorneys, the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida said. Nearly 1,000 current and former Cheney Brothers workers are eligible to participate in the settlement, the Nov. 4 order said.
