Flowers Foods Takes Arbitration Exemption Loss to High Court

Flowers Foods Inc. and two subsidiaries who failed to make drivers arbitrate wage claims added to calls for additional high court input on applying a federal arbitration law’s transportation worker exemption.

The case presents the same question as one the US Supreme Court recently agreed to consider, namely whether the Federal Arbitration Act exemption applies to workers who aren’t employed by a company in the transportation industry, according to the baked goods company’s petition.
