Florida’s Suncoast Credit Union Sued Over Use of Tracking Pixels

Florida-based Suncoast Credit Union was accused in a proposed class action of using a host of online trackers to improperly disclose information its website collected in the course of providing financial services to its customers.

The decision to share the information likely saved marketing costs, generated sales, and attracted new customers, Eliorminia Casanova said in her complaint filed in the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida. But in doing so the company violated its federal and state legal obligations to keep financial information secure, she said.
