Voting groups are challenging Florida’s law requiring some proof of citizenship to get on or remain on state voting rolls.
The lawsuit, field Wednesday in the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida, argues that requiring an on-file birth certificate or passport violates the First and Fourteenth Amendments to the US Constitution by creating an undue burden on the right to vote.
