The Justice Department filed a complaint against a Florida tax return preparer to prevent future tax preparation, according to the agency Tuesday.
Kenia Rodriguez allegedly claimed “extensive” fraudulent deductions and credits to underreport taxes that her customers owed while preparing their federal income tax returns, the DOJ said. She also allegedly failed to identify herself on the tax returns that she prepared, the government said.
Her actions allegedly caused a tax loss of $6 million since 2021, the DOJ said.
