The Florida Supreme Court has suspended a Democratic former state legislator from his judgeship after several incidents from the bench, including making sexual jokes, insulting Republican attorneys, and indicating how he might rule on future legal issues.
Seventeenth Circuit Judge Gary M. Farmer Jr. will be removed from the bench without pay starting May 19, the all-Republican high court ruled Wednesday in an unauthored three-paragraph order. His suspension will continue through his pending judicial ethics proceedings, the court said.
