Florida Abortion Measure Attacks Draw Criminal, Civil Suits (1)

Lawyers, politicians and activist groups are rushing to court in an attempt to rebuff Gov. Ron DeSantis’ administration’s efforts to criticize Florida’s abortion rights ballot measure.

The state Democratic Party is filing criminal referrals in at least three counties this week, and the ACLU of Florida is strategizing a petition on behalf of an abortion rights group. They’re all following in the footsteps of a local attorney who is also suing the state claiming DeSantis (R) and other officials are misusing their positions and taxpayer funds to hamstring the ballot measure.
