Florida AG to Review Biden-Era Sentence Commutations (1)

Criminal defendants whose federal sentences were tossed by former President Joe Biden will now have to worry about Florida prosecutors, the state’s top cop announced Tuesday.

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier (R) has assigned the Office of Statewide Prosecution to research any potential Florida criminal violations for individuals commuted by Biden.

“If we can bring state-level charges, we will work with every level of government to do so,” he said in a statement.

Uthmeier linked the office’s actions to Biden’s use of an autopen device to commute the sentences of hundreds of individuals in the waning days of his presidency. ...
