Flathead Logging Project Upheld With New Review Ordered by Court

A logging project in Flathead National Forest survived a lawsuit from environmental groups after a federal judge ruled the US Forest Service adequately studied impacts on the endangered grizzly bear.

The Endangered Species Act study underpinning the Round Star Vegetation Management Project was upheld by the US District Court for the District of Montana on Tuesday, which ruled the agency reasonably determined that increased road activity wouldn’t harm the protected species.
