FKA Twigs Seeks Non-Infringement Ruling in Band Name Dispute

A Grammy-award winning musician and performer known as “FKA Twigs” wants a court to declare that her stage name doesn’t violate the trademark rights of an alternative pop band called “The Twigs.”

Sisters and band mates, Laura and Linda Good, have asserted “unmeritious trademark claims” through a series of cease and desist letters threatening litigation, Tahliah Barnett said in a complaint filed March 20 to the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
