Five Guys’ $1.2 Million Wage Deal Nixed Again for Drafting Woes

A $1.2 million settlement between Five Guys and thousands of employees in California who were affected by alleged wage-law violations was rejected for a second time by a federal judge who identified multiple inconsistencies between the approval motion, the actual agreement, and the proposed class notice.

The plaintiffs indicated in their renewed motion that $100,000 had been shifted from the attorneys to the proposed class members, increasing the class fund to $760,000 and reducing the requested attorneys’ fees to $300,000.
