A blind former employee of an online customer-experience strategies firm will receive $250,000 as part of a consent decree to end a lawsuit filed against the firm by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
The Results Company also agreed not to engage in any employment practice that discriminates against workers with vision-related disabilities and not to fire any qualified employee because of their disability or their need for a “reasonable” accommodation, according to the two-year consent decree the parties filed Wednesday with the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
