A Louisiana parish must face a former truck driver’s claim that it terminated him because he was diagnosed with long Covid-19, a federal judge ruled.
The ruling Thursday by the US District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana addressed an issue that it said has divided US trial courts: whether Covid-19 is a qualifying disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act. But the federal Department of Health and Human Services and Justice Department “have advised that ‘long COVID can be a disability; under the ADA,” the court said.
