Finish Line Avoids Suit Challenging Lack of Braille Gift Cards

Finish Line Inc. exited a would-be class suit alleging its failure to provide braille gift cards violated the Americans with Disabilities Act, after a federal court in New York said the law doesn’t require retailers to provide accessible gift cards.

In rejecting plaintiff Marcos Calcano’s challenge for now, Judge Edgardo Ramos of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York followed other cases that have held the disability discrimination law doesn’t cover gift cards.
