Financial Empowerment Author Says Influencer Copied Book Title

Amanda Frances, an author and self-described thought leader on financial empowerment for women, has sued Penguin Random House Inc. for trade dress violations related to the impending release of a book by social media personal finance influencer Vivian Tu, who goes by “Your Rich BFF” online.

Frances developed her brand, AF Inc., through selling financial courses, writing blogs, and eventually self-publishing an e-book called “Rich as F---.” Tu’s book “Rich AF,” set to release on Dec. 26, copied elements of AF Inc.'s trade dress, Frances’ complaint filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York alleges. ...
