Utah’s supreme court justices Tuesday engaged in a lengthy, comprehensive session intended to resolve whether the state’s near-total abortion ban should be allowed to take effect while a case over its validity proceeds.
All five justices peppered attorneys with questions ranging from how abortion has been treated in the state historically to whether Planned Parenthood Association of Utah showed that it will suffer irreparable harm if Utah is given the leeway to enforce the ban.
