Fifth Circuit Overturns Injunction on Texas Vote Harvesting Ban

Texas can continue to ban paid campaign workers from assisting voters in submitting mail-in ballots, a federal appeals court ruled Thursday.

The law Texas passed to curb election fraud “curtails various activities that incentivize vote fraud and intimidation,” Judge Edith Jones wrote for the unanimous panel. “Its provisions are being serially litigated before the district court for reasons that are not obvious considering the similarity of parties, issues, and witnesses,” she said.
