Fifth Circuit Case on Biden Gun Rule Ends as Trump DOJ Settles

The US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit dismissed a challenge to a Biden-era regulation on triggers that can replicate machine gun-style fire, after the Justice Department said it had reached a settlement in the case.

The appeals court granted the motion to dismiss on Monday. A three-judge panel had heard arguments in December on whether to uphold US District Judge Reed O’Connor of the Northern District of Texas’s ruling against the ban, but hadn’t yet issued a ruling.
