Fender Musical Instruments Corp. has sued a wind instrument accessory maker for trademark infringement.
Win-D-Fender LLC, which makes accessories for flutes and other wind instruments, has been improperly using the Fender mark on its website and product names, the complaint filed July 28 in the US District Court for the Central District of California says.
There’s market overlap between the two companies and Win-D-Fender is trying to “illegally benefit from the reputation and goodwill Fender has built in its musical instruments and related goods,” Fender says.
