Allied Universal Security Services LLC defeated an employee’s bid to revive claims she was paid less than men performing essentially the same work, the Eleventh Circuit ruled Wednesday.
The former security manager, who was assigned to an Atlanta Medical Center hospital, failed to show any of the male employees she pointed to performed work that was substantially equal to hers because it required equal skill and qualifications, the court said in affirming summary judgment for the company and the woman’s supervisor under the Equal Pay Act.
