The Corporation for Public Broadcasting sued the Trump administration for allegedly blocking access to a $40 million grant intended to upgrade the US emergency-alert system, the latest fallout from the government’s chaotic January spending freeze.

The suit, filed Thursday in Washington against the Federal Emergency Management Agency, alleges the funds were blocked after President Donald Trump issued an unprecedented freeze on trillions of dollars in federal spending on grants, loans and other financial assistance in January.
