Feds Hope to Dismiss Charge That Spurred SCOTUS Decision (1)

Federal prosecutors no longer intend to re-try a bribery case that prompted the US Supreme Court to narrow the scope of a public corruption statute, they announced in a filing Thursday.

James Snyder, the former mayor of Portage, Ind., was scheduled for re-trial in September on a bribery count that made it all the way to the nation’s highest court.
