FedEx Sued Over Company’s Location Tracking Technology (1)

A wireless device developer says FedEx Corp. is unlawfully using the developer’s proprietary location-tracking technology.

WirelessWerx IP LLC sued the package delivery company for patent infringement in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

FedEx is using technology to track packages that is unlawfully similar to WirelessWerx’s U.S. Patent No. 7,317,927 for a wireless method for communicating location information, the complaint says.

WirelessWerx brings a claim for patent infringement. The company is seeking damages, “a compulsory ongoing royalty,” and attorney fees.
