FedEx Hit With Illinois Package Handler’s Wages Class Action

Federal Express Corp. is facing a new lawsuit alleging it failed to pay overtime and other earned compensation for time spent on FedEx’s premises at the beginning and end of the workday in violation of Illinois wage laws.

Angel Lucio Medina’s proposed class action complaint, filed the lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, alleges violations of the Illinois Minimum Wage Law (IMWL) and the Illinois Wage Payment and Collection Act (IWPCA). It also states a claim for quantum meruit under Illinois law in the alternative to the IWPCA claim.
