FedEx, Courier Resolve Weight Bias Claim Over Seatbelt Extender

Federal Express Corp. and a 450-pound former courier agreed to end his lawsuit alleging he was demoted to a nondriving job because of his weight.

The US District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan entered an order Wednesday dismissing Anthony Trapp’s case with prejudice. That came after FedEx and Trapp filed a joint stipulation asking the court to do so.

A Dec. 28 entry on the case docket indicates that Trapp and FedEx resolved his weight bias claim under Michigan’s Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act.
