A federal law prohibiting the manufacture and distribution of switchblade knives violates the Second Amendment and should be enjoined, according to a complaint filed a Texas federal district court.
The Federal Switchblade Act enacted in 1958 and the Federal Knife Ban—which imposes criminal penalties for making, selling, or possessing a switchblade—should be declared unlawful, and federal agents should be stopped from enforcing them, Knife Rights Inc. and other plaintiffs said in a Sept. 27 complaint with the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas.
