Federal prisons can move forward with their implementation of President Donald Trump’s executive order barring the use of federal funds for certain medical treatments for transgender inmates, while litigation on the topic plays out in a federal appeals court.
The Trump administration is likely to prevail in its appeal of a renewed preliminary injunction because the district court’s order “appears to have been an administrative injunction,” the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit said Tuesday in a per curiam order granting an emergency stay.
