Abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy are now banned in North Carolina, as a federal court lifted a three-year injunction that had blocked the state from enforcing laws prohibiting previability abortions.
The US District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina in 2019 held that the ban violated the federal constitutional right to terminate a pregnancy at any time before viability.
