Federal Contractor Mishandled Rumors of Sex Traded for Promotion

A government contractor owes a female former manager $725,000 for failing to put an end to rumors that she was repeatedly promoted only because she was having sex with her boss and for firing her for complaining about it, a federal jury in Maryland decided.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland jury found Reema Consulting Services Inc. violated Evangeline Parker’s rights under both workplace harassment and anti-retaliation laws, Dennis A. Corkery, an attorney for Parker, told Bloomberg Law in an email Monday.
