Family Dollar Consumers Sue After Rodent Infestation Revealed

Dollar Tree Inc. and its Family Dollar unit were hit with federal lawsuits stemming from a recently revealed rodent infestation at an Arkansas warehouse that led to product recalls and the temporary closure of more than 400 stores.

Tennessee residents Lakindal Smith and Keith Martin say they bought numerous recalled products including medications, dietary supplements, and human and pet food. Customers who purchased the affected products were subjected to actual harm, they allege in a proposed class action filed Feb. 25 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.
