A Florida appeals court tossed the claims of a legendary Pac-Man record holder in a ruling that could help shield some businesses and journalists from liability if they secretly record phone conversations.

Billy Mitchell, the famed arcade wizard, couldn’t sue another Pac-Man maven, David Race, who surreptitiously recorded their phone calls as part of an investigation into alleged video game record cheating.
