Facebook Hit With Class Action Over Spate of Hacked Accounts

Meta Platforms Inc. failed to prevent hackers from taking over and misusing tens of thousands of Facebook social media accounts, or help users regain control over them, a proposed federal class action said.

The company’s failures allowed hackers to post inappropriate content on stolen accounts, make solicitations to account holders’ friends and family members, and cause harm to account holders’ goodwill and reputations, the complaint filed Wednesday by plaintiff Sara Isgur said.
