A former undergraduate student’s Title IX claim that the University of Virginia discriminated against him when it wrongfully expelled him based on false sexual assault allegations can proceed, a federal court has ruled.
The plaintiff, identified only as John Doe, sued UVa for wrongful expulsion in violation of Title IX and the Due Process and Equal Protection Clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment. He also asserts the expulsion violated his contract with the university.
