Ex-Virginia Elections Registrar Loses Appeal of Ouster Verdict

A woman who was ousted from her elections registrar position failed to convince a federal appeals court to throw out a verdict in favor of the Lynchburg, Va., electoral board.

The district court properly screened jurors for political bias and didn’t abuse its discretion when rejecting evidence presented by Christine Gibbons, the US Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit said in a Wednesday opinion.
