Ex-UC Santa Barbara Coach Says Raising Gender Bias Got Her Fired

The University of California Board of Regents was hit with claims that a former assistant coach for the UC Santa Barbara women’s softball team was fired for complaining about disproportionate funding between men’s and women’s sports.

The plaintiff, Alysia Hendricks, alleges she was retaliated against for her complaints about UCSB’s violations of the Equal Pay Act of 1963, Title IX, and her involvement in an effort to close the pay gap between male and female coaches, according to the complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
